CRYSTAL PALACE are weighing-up a move for former Southampton striker Stern John.

The 32-year-old is out of contract after leaving St Mary's and is set to undergo a week-long trial with the Eagles.

And Palace boss Neil Warnock says he is hopeful of tempting the Trinidad and Tobago forward to Selhurst Park this summer.

He said: "I liked him last year but I've not thought about him. But I'll be making inquiries now - I wouldn't mind him coming here for a week."

John, who has played over 100 games for his country, scoring 69 goals, has also played for Nottingham Forest and Birmingham City.
