ROTHERHAM United have been taking a look at Trinidad and Tobago international winger Hayden Tinto.

Coming in as a triallist, he played as a sub in the friendly against Bristol Rovers and could figure in the squad for tomorrow's warm-up match against Hartlepool at Don Valley.

Tinto, aged 22, also had a trial at Yeovil and went on from the bench in their 2-0 win against Barnsley.

He was an unused sub for T&T when they were beaten 3-0 by England in Port of Spain in June.

Millers boss Mark Robins is looking to strengthen his squad after the departure of Graham Coughlan to Shrewsbury.

Robins made light of the Millers' result against Bristol Rovers on Wednes-day, a 1-0 defeat.

He said: "We controlled the game for the first 15 to 20 minutes and passed it about but again we didn't really penetrate so we still have some work to do.

"It was good for Mark Burchill to get 90 minutes under his belt coming back from his toe injury and now we will get on with the preparation for tomorrow's game.

"I more or less know what the league starting team will be, though I am still looking round to bring in the right people if I can get hold of them.

"We had a triallist from Trinidad in Hayden Tinto and we will have another look at him."

Hartlepool will be bidding to bounce back from what manager Danny Wilson describes as "our most lack-lustre performance of pre-season" - a 1-0 midweek defeat at York.

"We never really got out of the blocks," said Wilson. "Perhaps there was a bit of pride lost through losing to a non-league side. We've just got to put that behind us and move on."
