Newly appointed Tranmere Rovers head coach John Barnes have been rumored to be interested in signing former Sunderland player Dwight Yorke.
The forty-five year old former Liverpool legend stepped down from his role as Jamaica head coach to take over at Prenton Park following the sacking of Ronnie Moore. Former Tranmere Rovers midfielder Theodore Whitmore took John's place as national coach for Jamaica.
Yorke meanwhile- has proved last season that he can still play at the Premiership level when he gave a man of the match performance against Arsenal while still at Sunderland. The former Aston Villa hitman was released by the Black Cats last May.
The Smiling Assassin is also receiving interest from Australian club Newcastle Jets. A move back to Australia may-not be such a bad idea as the player is still rated one of the best ever player to play in the Australian A League.
Yorke does have tons of experience and great knowledge for the game and will surely be an asset to any club under the Premiership level both on and off the field.
But, it is yet to see where the former Manchester star would end up. League One club Tranmere Rovers are strongly linked with the Trinidad and Tobago captain and Yorke move could be pivotal to the club's success this coming season should they sign the man from Tobago.
