Andre Boucaud insists he would "do it all again" as he prepares to return to the fold for Kettering Town.

The midfielder suffered a broken nose and a cut under his eye after a sickening clash of heads with Stevenage Borough defender Jon Ashton in the Poppies' 2-0 defeat at the Blue Square Premier leaders just under two weeks ago.

But Boucaud has proved to be a quick healer and has been given the all-clear to train with his team-mates for the first time since his injury today.

Now he is hoping to be available for Saturday's home clash with fellow high-fliers York City.

There was genuine concern for Boucaud's health when the incident happened.

But he insists his confidence hasn't been dented and he will continue to show the same commitment in the remainder of the season.

"I can't remember too much about it," Boucaud said.

"I just remember going up for the ball and after that I can only remember being in the treatment room and being covered in blood.

"I would do it all again without a doubt. "There was nothing sinister in the challenge it was just one of those things that happens in football.

"You have to go in fully committed. I am just glad it was my nose that was broken because on another day and in another challenge it could have been my leg, which would have been lot more serious.

"I am still in a bit of pain but it has healed very quickly so I am happy about that.

"I have been told I can get back into training and I hope I will be available for the game with York.

"It's a case of training and then seeing how I feel. But if I feel up to it I will certainly be available for selection."

Boucaud's return is a huge boost for boss Lee Harper.

The Poppies boss added: "It's a massive boost because Andre was re-discovering his good form in the lead up to that Stevenage game.

"He took a bad injury but the doctor has given him the all-clear and I hope we can get him back in there for Saturday."
