Carlos EdwardsIpswich winger Carlos Edwards admits he may be too laid-back and that is why fans have not seen the best of him.

The Trinidad & Tobago player told BBC Suffolk: "Speaking very openly maybe I've been taking things for granted.

"It's not just me who's been saying I'm too laid-back, the gaffer [Roy Keane] has mentioned it to me and so has my wife so I have to prove them wrong."

The 31-year-old has scored two goals in 30 Ipswich appearances following his September move from Sunderland.

Edwards, who was promoted to the Premier League with the Black Cats in 2007, believes Ipswich can do likewise in 2011, saying: "We have the players and the staff and the backing of the directors.

"Next season is going to be a very different ball game"

"Obviously the board has to do their part but at the end of the day it's mostly down to the players to go out on the pitch and do the hard work.

"We should put this disappointing season aside and I think that next season is going to be a very different ball game.

"We just need to strengthen up in one or two places and I'm looking forward to the challenge and hopefully I can be here next season to help the team push for promotion.

"I have no concern that I won't be here next season but you never know, it's a strange game but at this present time I'm fully committed to the team and the club and don't see any reason for me to be leaving unless the manager thinks otherwise."
