Khaleem Hyland has his current contract until 2012 with one years, until 2013. The 21-year-old midfielder played since January 2009 with Essevee.
General manager Vincent Mannaert: "Two years in a row has been a demand for Khaleem. After the transfer of Berrier was immediately clear that there could be a departure.
For the club it is important that Hyland can continue, and together we decided to contract for one year extension. In this way Khaleem perfectly focused on the competition starts. "
Khaleem Hyland: "I am very happy with the new agreement. As a young player it is important that I assure my future and who is currently at Zulte Waregem.
It's nice to hear that your name is quoted, but I play in a good team and focus fully on my job with me and the first league Essevee Standard on. Next year I want to stay injury free, as far as possible match and play my first goal for Zulte Waregem (laughs). Our team is young and ambitious, it clicks with the new coach and we are one step better. "
Hyland handed new deal.
But Juve could still land T&T midfielder.
Skysports.com understands Trinidad & Tobago midfielder Khaleem Hyland has landed a lucrative new one-year deal with Zulte Waregem.
Hyland, who came close to moving to England with Portsmouth a couple of years ago, has impressed during his time at the Belgian club.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a move to Italy for the last few weeks, with Juventus believed to have expressed an interest in his services.
And while he has committed his immediate future to Zulte, there is still a chance that a switch to Serie A could still materialise.
Should Juve continue their pursuit of Hyland then he could be sold before being loaned back to his current club for one season.
Hyland's agent, Steve Davies, told skysports.com: "We're delighted with the deal.
"I believe talks are ongoing with interested clubs and any interested parties should contact Zulte Waregem."
