Skysports.com understands Swansea City have entered talks with Ipswich Town about re-signing Jason Scotland.
The 32-year-old striker was a big hero to the Swans faithful during a stint at the Liberty Stadium between 2007 and 2009 that yielded 45 goals in just 90 games.
Such prolific form attracted the attention of Wigan Athletic but his debut campaign in the Premier League was largely one of disappointment.
Thereafter a switch to Ipswich followed and to date at Portman Road he has scored 10 goals in 39 appearances.
Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers is convinced the Trinidadian hit-man can cut it in the top flight and is ready to offer him a fresh chance in the Premier League.
Initial talks have begun between the two parties, with Scotland likely to be interested in being reunited with the club where he enjoyed the best of spell of his career.
