samuel-sign-lutonThe Hatters have signed of Trinidad & Tobago international Collin Samuel minutes before the transfer deadline.

The 30-year-old winger/striker has signed a one-year contract at Kenilworth Road, subject to international clearance.

After impressing in the Caribbean, Samuel moved to Scotland in 2002, joining Falkirk, scoring 11 goals in 34 games in the First Division.

That form caught the eye of Premier League side Dundee United and a £100,000 fee saw Samuel move to Tannadice where he enjoyed a successful five years, including a Scottish Cup runners-up medal in 2004/05

After his contract expired a move to Canada with Toronto followed in 2007 but a year later he was back in Scotland, signing for St Johnstone where he helped the Saints win promotion to the Premier League in 2009/10.

Gary Brabin told the club's website: "I'm delighted to welcome Collin to the club.

"I'm looking forward to working with him. Collin has a good pedigree, is a strong, versatile player.

"He's able to play anywhere across the attacking positions, is an international and will give us a different dimension."

He will wear squad number 23.
