Four first half goals and one in the second, Caledonia AIA headed into the Christmas break in good scoring form with a 5-2 Digicel Pro League win over Central FC.
The win temporarily had the Jerry Moe coached-Caledonia back at the top of the standings with 13 points, before slipping back into second when Defence Force (16 points) also hammered a contrasting 5-1 win over DIRECTV W Connection in the second Round One Match Day Seven fixture on Friday night.
Caledonia wasted no time in hosting Central at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.
Five minutes into the match, Central goalie Marvin Phillip was called upon to make a solid block-out denying Caledonia's Guyanese winger Walter Moore from close up.
But a minute later Phillip couldn't help his side when right fullback Kareem Joseph blasted in Caledonia's opening item for a 1-0 advantage.
Joseph then assisted in Caledonia's second item by the 12th minute for a 2-0 cushion.
Joseph's corner from the left was bundled by Radanfah Abu Bakr who contested Phillip to the ball, before potting in goal from close up.
Caledonia later made it 3-0 by the 26th minute when Cornelius Stewart sent a low drive past Phillip off a low cross by Moore after Guerra penetrated the midfield and defense before slipping a pass to the left.
The Morvant-Laventille club added a fourth in the 37th minute for a healthy 4-0 advantage before the break.
Guerra executed a fine strike from the top of the area to leave Phillip and his defense beaten.
Following the break Central FC's Tobagonian import Rundell Winchester in his debut match pulled a goal back in the 58th minute.
The lanky, now former Stokely Vale star, blasted a shot past goalkeeper Glenroy Samuel reducing the deficit 4-1 and inside a minute later he was inches wide of the goal on two occasions.
Central midfielder Marvin Oliver also exposed his former club on the hour mark but was denied by the upright.
But Caledonia responded in the 82nd minute adding a fifth to complete a handful when defender Nuru Abdallah Muhammed surged well inside the Central area to guide Guerra's corner past Phillip for a 5-1 score.
And three minutes later, Guerra's superbly measured low cross behind the Central defense marked danger all over it, however Moore's early strike was charged down by Phillip.
However the score-line didn't flatten Central's fight.
Managed by caretaker and assistant coach Kevin Jeffrey, in absence of head coach Graham Rix, Central pulled another goal back. However it wasn't the type of score-line the Couva based club would have liked to gift wrap for Rix vacationing in his homeland, England, for Christmas.
Winchester, a first half substitute, in another daring runs towards the area, was brought down winning his side a freekick in the 90th minute. Substitute Tyrone Charles tried one of his trademark attempt over the wall however it lacked pace, making an easy gather for Samuel.
But a retake was ordered because of encroachment and Charles got it right on the second attempt to bury the ball in the back of the net for a lessen the embarrassing score-line 5-2.
Caledonia were fortunate not to concede another in the fourth and final minute of injury time when goalkeeper Samuel made a gather on the goal-line to deny an Anthony Wolfe header off a Charles free-kick from the left.
