ST ANN’s Rangers inked a US$75,000 sponsorship deal with Plusone Fashion out of America.
The club yesterday unveiled their uniforms to the media at a press conference at the VIP Lounge at the Hasely Crawford Stadium. Chief Financial Officer of Plusone Chris Anderson said his company will continue to build on the first payment which includes equipment.
Anderson said he is more focused on the youths since they are the future of the club. “The senior team is the senior team, but I am interested in the youths since they are the backbone of every club. Without the youths there is no successful senior team, we can’t play football for the moment, it’s long-term, longevity, and we all know that this club has survived with longevity already,” said Anderson.
He said the club will get continued support from his company and indicated once there is more that can be done they will facilitate the club. “It is a numbers game in the business but we understand also that it is community and we must support it, we have to help the youths.”
Anderson also indicated that the club will be taking part in a 12-team regional tournament which will be organised by the company and English Premier Club Chelsea sometime in the near future. He also indicated that the company which is involved in sponsorship for a couple of clubs in the Caribbean, is expected to sign an agreement with the TT Football Federation (TTFF) within the next couple weeks.
Head coach of the club Gilbert Bateau thanked Plusone for getting on board and promised the club would give its new sponsors value for their money. A number of players from the club were on hand to model the various kits which include, training, home and away kits, travelling outfits and replica shirts and caps which are to be sold.
