Twenty-three-year-old Montserrat national team forward, Julian Wade and Trinidad and Tobago utility player Noel Williams are two new faces to look out for on the Caledonia AIA roster in the upcoming season.

The Morvant-Laventille club is preparing for the 2013-2014 CONCACAF Champions League, which begins next month away to 10-time Liga Mexico champions Deportivo Toluca.

Veteran midfielder Stephan David will again lead Caledonia, and will have around him T&T internationals Densill Theobald, Jamal Gay and Aubrey David, who were part of the Soca Warriors’ quarterfinal round finish in the current 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Former T&T international, Andre Toussaint, as well as Keyon Edwards and Nuru Abdullah Muhammad, who have both recently donned the Warriors shirt, are also on the 2013-14 roster, along with Akim Armstrong, Kareem Joseph, Abdallah Phillips, Nathan Lewis, Argentine midfielder Miguel Alejandro Romeo, Marcus Ambrose, Antiguan Akeem Thomas, and goalkeepers Glenroy Samuel and Grenadian Shemel Louison.

Newcomer Williams, a former San Juan Jabloteh player, joined Caledonia on loan from Police FC. The utility player can comfortably fit in at the back, wide midfield, or up front.

The relatively unknown Wade, meanwhile, is an outright striker.

“He (Wade) has some speed, and is a goal-scorer with both feet,” said Caledonia coach Jerry Moe during Tuesday morning’s session at UTT Ground, O’Meara, Arima.

“He probably still has to work on the pace of the Pro League. So when it starts, it will be the real test because he hasn’t played a Pro League opponent yet. So far he has been doing well but we will get a better picture of him when the season starts.”
