Jan-Michael Williams has revealed that Central FC head coach Terry Fenwick tried to sign him eight years ago while he was at the helm of San Juan Jabloteh. And now for this T&T Pro League season, the national team custodian is excited about his new move to the Central FC outfit.

“We have some history between us because he (Terry Fenwick) actually wanted to come to Jabloteh eight years ago but I had strong ties with W Connection at the time,” Williams said.

“Then with the situation at Connection last season, my objective was to do well at the Gold Cup and attract some interest which I did but there was nothing concrete and the opportunity presented itself for me to join Central FC.

“I took a decision to join St Ann’s Rangers before the Gold Cup because it was more testing for me and I had the chance to work with Nigel Neverson. It paid off and I had a decent Gold Cup and I want to pay special thanks to Richard Fakoory and Rangers for giving me that opportunity at the point in time,” Williams said.

“Now I’m at Central and I’ve bought into the vision of the club and the direction they want to head which is something I want to be part of. Of course the ambition to play overseas is there still and I think they understand it but the immediate goal is to help the club do well this season.”
