Jameel Perry netted a stinger and was influential in another as Police FC hammered San Juan Jabloteh 3-0 on Saturday at the Larry Gomes Stadium.

The Digicel Pro League Round Three Match Day Four result improved coach Richard Hood's side to 27 points and up a spot into fifth, one point ahead of defending champions Defence Force.

While Jabloteh, nailed to eighth position with 11 points, extended its poor run of form to 10 consecutive winless outings for head coach Keith Jeffrey.

Jabloteh, defeated 4-2 and 2-1 in Round One and Two respectively against the "Lawmen" this season, were left in a state of confusion and doubt in the 38th minute when Police took a 1-0 lead.

Police winger Joel Kevin Lewis blasted past rookie goalkeeper Kevin Dodds, who started in absence of injured Shane Mattis, at the near post, but the pace on the strike after mesmerizing his marker, led some to believe the strike had pierced the side netting.

However the referee and his far assistant were spot on in their decision, but not without a bit of deliberation, as Dodds retrieved the ball from inside his goal.

Then in a space of four minutes, Police, who enjoyed similar success against cellar positioned St. Ann’s Rangers a week ago in a 4-0 win, added two more goals against the San Juan club.

Midfielder Kenaz Williams made it 2-0 in the 49th minute when he picked up on a rebound, rounded Dodds and hit into an exposed net after the Jabloteh goalie spilled Perry’s low strike.

Then in the 52nd minute Perry added his name to the score-sheet in style, whipping a left-footed strike from distance and into the upper corner for the 3-0 score – leaving no chance to Dodds.

Dodds, who was lucky in the 32nd minute when Lewis struck wide from a Trent Noel set-play, was fortunate not to concede a fourth item two minutes from time after Perry headed wide of the near post off an Akiba Peters free-kick.

Jabloteh meanwhile failed to make the best of the rarity, when in the 31st minute winger Micah Lewis struck the side netting and in the 70th minute Nyron Jones struck wide of the fat upright.

But the most disappointing of them all was defender Kareem Smith, who directed a well-placed Jean-Luc Rochford corner onto the crossbar and behind from within the six yard area.
