Soon-to-be birthday boy Trevin Caesar of North East Stars has been voted the Wendy’s Player of the Month for March (PoM), while Central FC head coach Terry Fenwick is the Blue Waters Coach of the Month (CoM) for a third time this season.

“It’s obviously a great feeling to win this award but I think it’s going to be the first of many once I’m still in the league,” said Caeser, who is very ambitious of someday plying his trade abroad.

“I want to further my football career,” added the Tobagonian forward who turns 25 on April 26. “There are no interests (from clubs abroad) right now but I’d like to play in Europe or the MLS.”

Ceasar, who scored six goals in March, credited his teammates and “a good coaching staff headed by Angus Eve” at the Sangre Grande club for his 12 league goals so far this season.

He is presently tied with W Connection’s Joevin Jones on the 2014 Digicel Pro League scorers’ list in second, behind Point Fortin Civic’s Marcus Joseph (13 goals).

Fenwick meanwhile, who led Central to three wins in as many matches in March against Defence Force (3-2), W Connection (3-0) and Point Fortin Civic (2-0), was voted for the award he picked up in September and February of this term.

Fenwick and Caesar will meet from 6 pm on Friday at the Ato Boldon Stadium when Central FC tackles North East Stars in semi-final one of the 2014 Lucozade Sport Goal Shield (LSGS).

“We want to go out and give a hundred percent (against Central),” said Ceasar, who missed his side’s league contest against Point Fortin Civic on Tuesday because of a red card suspension. The Stars were defeated 1-0 by a Marcus Joseph goal following a goalkeeping mistake by Stefan Berkeley.

Caesar who will return to the line-up against Central in the LSGS said he is confident of a win once his teammates play as team to get the job done.

In semi-final two from 8 pm at the Couva venue, defending champions W Connection are against tournament newcomers Point Fortin Civic.
