Anthony Herbert scored a hat-trick to lead DirecTV W Connection to an emphatic 6-1 hammering of Central FC and with it, the Youth Pro League Under-16 Division title on Sunday.
Herbert got his goals in the 11th, 20th and 34th minutes for W Connection while Isaiah Hudson added a pair in the 32nd and 57th minutes, and Judah St Louis, the other in the 67th while Shackel Louison netted Central’s consolation item in the 43rd.
With the win, W Connection extended its points tally to an unassailable 35 points from 14 matches, ten clear of San Juan Jabloteh and North East Stars, with two matches left for each of the top three clubs.
In the Under-18/Reserve Division, Jabloteh moved to within one point of being crowned champions following its 7-3 thrashing of North East Stars inspired by a Shaquille Bertrand hat-trick in the third, 65th and 66th minutes and two from Akim Andre, in the 19th and 60th.
The win carried Jabloteh to 34 points, six more than lone challenger W Connection which also have two matches left and need to win both to have any chance.
However, in the Under-14 age-group, Jabloteh, North East Stars and W Connection are all still in the mix with two matches left to play.
As it stans, Jabloteh leads on goal-difference from Stars, with both clubs on 34 points from 14 matches while W Connection has an outside chance of claiming the crown with 30 points from its 14 matches and two left to play.
