On the Streete

CLUB SANDO twice beat four-time Caribbean club champions DirecTV W Connection, won nine Pro League football matches in 2015-2016 and finished a respectable seventh in their first season of professional football.

But that record has not allowed head coach Anthony “Prowler” Streete to keep his job.

Streete has not been on the Club Sando bench for the club’s last few matches and is set to be replaced next season by Angus Eve, the current St Ann’s Rangers coach. Contacted by the Trinidad Express this week, Eve confirmed an approach by Club Sando management.

“There is an offer but nothing has been confirmed yet,” Eve said. “I am still with Rangers.”

Club Sando is owned by Eddison Dean, a Naparima College old boy, and a source said the Naparima connection was responsible for the interest in Eve, who led the school team to the national Inter-Col and Premier Division double last season.
