Third placed T&T Pro League team, Club Sando suffered an upset defeat yesterday as the oranges were defeated by 8th placed, Police FC in a rescheduled round two, match day six fixture at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain.

Starting the day on 14 points from 14 matches this season, Police would end the day in the fifth spot in the 2017 standings.

In an otherwise quiet affair on the stadium’s main field, Clevon Mc Fee scored the decisive item in the 53rd minute for the law men following a goalless stalemate in the first 45 minutes.

In another rescheduled match at Mahaica Oval, Point Fortin, defending champs Central FC slumped to their 6th defeat this season, beaten 2-1 by the home team Point Fortin Civic.

Civic stole a 2-0 first half lead on their visitors as Akinola Gregory opened the scoring in the 24th minute and nine minutes later former secondary school football hot-shot Shackiel Henry extended Civic’s lead as they sat comfortably at the interval.

Gem Gordon pulled on back for Central in the 53rd minute to spark some life into the Couva Sharks but they could not take another bite out of Civic’s stubborn defence and so the 2-1 result stood at the final whistle.

With that result, Civic replaced Central in 7th, up from 9th while the three-time defending champs now occupy 9th—one spot above St Ann’s Rangers.

The league continues today with another rescheduled fixture between San Juan Jabloteh and recently crowned First Citizens Cup champion W Connection at the Barataria Oval from 4 pm.
