De­fence Force ex­tend­ed its lead at the top of T&T Pro League be­hind a com­fort­able 3-1 vic­to­ry over AC Port-of-Spain when com­pe­ti­tion con­tin­ued with a dou­ble-head­er at the Ato Boldon Sta­di­um in Bal­main, Cou­va on Fri­day night.

The army/coast­guard com­bi­na­tion unit took the lead in the con­test in the 38th minute through Brent Sam for a 1-0 lead at th half-way make of the con­test. In the sec­ond half the 'Tetron Boys' added two more to kill-off any hopes the op­po­si­tion had of a fight back with strikes from Re­on Moore, who net­ted nine min­utes af­ter the re-start and Adri­an Welch scored in the 65th minute.

How­ev­er, AC Port-of-Spain showed some fight and was re­ward­ed with a Shem Clauziel goal three min­utes be­fore time.

It was De­fence Force ninth vic­to­ry from 12 match­es for a to­tal of 29 points which com­pris­es two draws and one loss, while AC Port-of-Spain slipped two spots down the 11-team stand­ing from eighth place to tenth.

In the fea­tured match, Tiger Tanks Club San­do got two goals from Shaque­em Joseph, one against the run of play in the 13th minute and a penal­ty sec­onds be­fore the half-time whis­tle sound­ed and Keron Corn­wall sealed all three points against Mor­vant Cale­do­nia Unit­ed. With the win Club San­do moves up a spot to eighth place, while Mor­vant Cale­do­nia Unit­ed dropped from fourth to sixth de­spite the re­sults was on­ly the team's third loss from 13 meet­ings.
