Just a few months after serving a four-match ban and paying a $12,000 fine, CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh coach Terry Fenwick was in the news again.
T&T Pro League CEO Dexter Skeene and administrator Julia Baptiste confirmed that Fenwick received a red card for using offensive language at match officials during Jabloteh's season opener on Saturday against San Fernando Starworld Strikers and was dismissed from the bench at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella.
Yesterday, Skeene said he could not yet determine the severity of Fenwick's action and what punishment he faced.
"I will have to first get a report from the match commissioner and the referee. I should have that tomorrow (Monday) and will then determine what course of action we take," Skeene said.
Last November, Fenwick was fined $24,000 and banned for ten matches after he elbowed W. Connection's Brazilian midfielder Gefferson Goulart, who was celebrating his winning goal near the Jabloteh bench during the Toyota Classic Final at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium.
Fenwick's assualt sparked a brawl involving both teams. The Pro League's disciplinary committee subsequently issued a release stating: "Fenwick...Found guilty of violence in according with FIFA disciplinary code article 48. As a result, Fenwick has been banned for a period of ten consecutive matches and a fine imposed of $24,000."
However, the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (T&TFF) appeals committee, comprising Jack Warner (chairman) and Om Lalla, reduced the ban and the fine.
