Devon Jorsling is finding his wings and as one of the prongs in the Defence Force attack the striker looks set to soar and mount a serious challenge for the golden boot this year.
Jorsling was at his best and it was his late brace that salvaged a point for the Army men against Superstar Rangers as the highly competitive 2007 TT Pro League resumed on Tuesday and if his performance at the Larry Gomes Stadium is anything to go by the goalmouth predator is going to have a great season.
Named the “Man of the Match”, Jorsling waxed humble when asked about his goalscoring comeback.
“The main thing in this game for us was working hard as a team because we want a top position on the table and we plan to keep fighting for just that.”
The army striker continued, “I feel good about my goals because I work hard, so that it was just a case of preparation meeting opportunity.”
With three goals to his name, Jorsling is confident of fulfilling all his personal expectations this season.
“I’m trying to get a call up to the national team” he intimated after the match, “I want to take Defence Force to the top of the league this year. I’m also looking for 20 goals this season and I think I am on track.”
Asked what he could take out of the team’s characteristically gritty performance Jorsling said, “I think the effort, to come back from two goals down, was just great, it shows the kind of team the
Army really is, we’re going to continue to play hard, we are all soldiers and sailors and we’re going to give it a fight.” he ended.
