Tobago United Technical Director Peter Granville is assuring the public that the 2009 Pro League season will be a revelation in the club's history.
But according to Granville change is coming, taking a bite of the 'Obama fever'.
"Fans of Tobago United and football fans in general will experience a highly competitive Tobago United this season," said the Granville. "We have been improving over the past few seasons but this year we will be much better."
Granville believes that the bottom of the table finish will be no more.
"The mandate for us this season is to have at least one great run in a knockout competition, finishing somewhere in the semi-final or final. And at the League stage we will be somewhere around mid-table," he assured.
The Tobago United TD will be moving into the 2009 season with the core of last season's squad which includes the likes of veteran Guyanese forward Collie Hurcules, midfielder Kayode McKinnon and defender Dwayne Jack.
Granville believes with the resources available to his club and experienced gained over the years, favourites such as CLICO San Juan Jabloteh and W Connection will have to be on the alert.
"Trust me! Tobago United will be a force to be reckoned with," said the excited Tobagonian. Last year we played some exciting football and this season I can safely say that we are going to be better than the last six years of our existence. We have been realizing our problems and what we have been doing was rectifying them."
Granville said that with the Dwight Yorke Stadium and Gym facilities and Plymouth Recreation Ground all available to Tobago United, and together with the coaching staff of himself and Kenny Thomas, results are imminent.
Excited over the season ahead, and remembering their 2-2 draw against back to back League Champions San Juan Jabloteh, Granville sent out a warning ahead of the 2009 season which kicks off in April.
"Tobago United are ready and we are not going to roll over and die. We have pulled points from the top clubs last season and we are going to be better."
Tobago United finished the 2009 season with just 13 points at the bottom, 12 points behind newcomers Ma Pau SC.
