Lester Peltier and Khaleem Hyland could be united yet another time during their young professional careers.
Peltier returned home on Sunday following a one month trial with, Belgium First Division club SV Zulte Waregem with high hopes of securing a contract for the new season beginning in September.

Zulte is the current club Trinidad and Tobago international Khaleem Hyland, who is said to be influential in Peltier’s possible move to the Belgium club.

Peltier and Hyland were teammates at National Youth levels, club San Juan Jabloteh and recently with the T&T National Senior Team.

Now an agreement between Jabloteh and Zulte stands between the pair becoming teammates again.

“Khaleem put in a good word for me at the club. They respect him there a lot and that has made my trial a comfortable one. The fans and players were very supportive during my stay and that helped me a lot,” said Peltier.

“Everyone remains positive that I will rejoin the team in time for (2009/2010) pre-season,” continued the Jabloteh player.

Zulte is currently wrapping up their 2008/2009 season with their last match being against Zottegem on Saturday. They are currently fifth on the standings with 52 points ahead of Westerlo by goals difference and behind fourth positioned Club Brugge(56 points).

Following the season Zulte will go on a three week break before regrouping for the 2009/2010 preseason. Peltier said that he is hoping an agreement will be finalized in time and in his favour to rejoin the club for their pre-season.

Peltier under the guidance of his agent Greg Goreen of Holland initially left Trinidad with intentions of joining Club Brugge on trial, but the influence of Hyland stepped in and Peltier shifted his trial with Zulte.

Peltier has been registered this week for the 2009 season to represent Jabloteh while negotiations are continuing according to Jabloteh team manager Azad Khan.

“Negotiations are ongoing,” said Khan. “They (Zulte) want him but we are waiting on an official proposal. So as we await an official offer, Lester (Peltier) will be playing for us.”

Peltier, who had trials across England previously with clubs such as Arsenal, Millwall and Portsmouth, was denied an opportunity to join ‘Pompey’ under then coach Harry Redknapp on a three year agreement by failure of a work permit.

The 2007 and 2008 Pro League Championship winner with Jabloteh is available for Jabloteh this Friday when they tackle W Connection in the second semi-final of the CFU Club Champions Cup at the Marvin Lee Stadium from 7:30pm.

Peltier said that he is contracted with Jabloteh and whenever his services are requested, his best will be given. Peltier is expected to feature for the Reserves on Thursday against FC South End Reserves.
