Police FC registered their second victory this season after a late Christopher Sam sealed a 1-0 victory over Ma Pau SC.

Sam registered the winning item in the 87 th minute locking maximum points against the Woodbrook based club on Saturday at the Larry Gomes Stadium.

Police’s only other victory this season was way back in Match Day Two when the edged Tobago United 2-1 thanks to a double by Todd Ryan.

However Police remain in tenth position on the 11-team Digicel Pro League standings with a boosted 8 points.

Rangers who suffered a 3-0 defeat against Joe Public in their Match Day Ten encounter are also with 8 points but are ahead of the lawmen in ninth by goals difference.

Ma Pau coming off a 1-1 draw against W Connection last week  and unbeaten in their last three outings dropped a spot into fifth.

Down at the Palo Seco Recreation Ground midfielder Aurtis Whitley of home team United Petrotrin registered a 23 rd minute item to level the scores 1-1 after Defence Force’s Javone Neptune had the soldiers in front in the 12th minute.

That’s how the match ended with Petrotrin dropping into sixth with 13 points, same amount as Ma Pau SC who also dropped a spot (into fifth) and Defence Force stagnant in seventh with 9 points.

FC South End also have 9 points following a 2-2 draw against home team Tobago United at the Dwight Yorke Stadium on Saturday.

South End had a comfortable 2-0 advantage at the break thanks to a double by Marcus Joseph netting in the 2 nd and 39th minutes but allowed Tobago United two second half goals to level the scores 2-2.

Jason Cudjoe in the 80 th and Kayode Mc Kinnon from the penalty spot in the 90th minute gave the Tobagonians their 4th drawn encounter in the 2009 League Championship as they are yet to register a victory.

Tobago remain way down at the bottom with 6 points as Round One heads to a close with Match Day Eleven coming up this week.

In Super Friday’s Match Day Ten clashes at the Marvin Lee Stadium Joe Public got goals from Kerry Baptiste, Gorian Highley and Conrad Smith to trash St Ann’s Rangers 3-0 and in the second match W Connection defeated Caledonia AIA of Morvant Laventille 2-1.

Andrei Pacheco and Jonathan Frias registered the goals for Connection while Keyon Edwards registered Caledonia’s item one minute from time.

At the top of the standings San Juan Jabloteh on a bye over the weekend remained at the top with 20 points, Caledonia in second with 19 points, Joe Public third with 18 points and Connection climbing two spots into fourth with 15 points.
