Kerry BaptisteBmobile Joe Public midfielder turned striker Kerry Baptiste is nearing an incredible feat of fifty goals in one season.

The Trinidad and Tobago international has a total of 46 goals overall this season and based on a beaver-trick registered on Monday night against the Joe Public EFA team in the quarterfinals of the FA Trophy, the 28 year old has enough matches ahead to achieve the 50-goal mark.

Baptiste turned 28 on Tuesday and has no problem celebrating his birthday later this month with a 50-goal mark along with two more titles in the Digicel Pro Bowl and the FA Trophy.

“I can’t even find words to explain how exciting this season is,” said the Joe Public goal-machine and captain.

“We have to give praises to God for the wonderful season. Credit to all the players and staff. Even the players who didn’t play much actually contributed to this wonderful season so far,” he added.

Baptiste took time on Tuesday to enjoy his birthday with girlfriend Reneé Mark and two-year old son, Kerry Baptiste Jr. ahead of some important clashes in the next few days.

Although enjoying the most fruitful season of his career, Baptiste who joined Joe Public in 2007 explained that his girlfriend and son are his most precious gifts.

Baptiste and Joe Public—the club that’s relishing his performances this season with three titles already in the Digicel Pro League championship, Big Six and Toyota Classic—will take on Ma Pau SC in the semifinals of the Digicel Pro Bowl on Friday night from 8pm at the Hasely Crawford Stadium and on Monday against Caledonia AIA in the semifinals of the FA at the Marvin Lee Stadium from 7pm.

“We have four more games in the semifinals and finals of the Pro Bowl and FA and I will do my best to get goals,” said the birthday-boy. “I will always give my best to help my club. And as it goes if I don’t score in one match I score in the other.”

With the talk of gifts in the air, Baptiste is hoping that Joe Public will be triumphant in the Pro Bowl and FA Trophy to give the club the biggest Christmas gift of five titles this season.

“We have to more titles to play for and we want to win them and make it five. It would be great to give this achievement to Daryll Warner, his father and the hardworking staff at Joe Public,” ended Baptiste.
