Joe Public and W Connection have earned comfortable victories, in the Under-18 age group, as Round Two Match Day Two of the Oasis Youth League continued.
Joe Public defeated Tobago United 4-2 while Connection got a come-from-behind 4-1 triumph over FC South End last Sunday.
Both Joe Public and Connection remain atop the standings with 28 points, but Joe Public stay in first place by virtue of a superior goal difference.
The group leaders Joe Public got a double from Neil Mitchell (29th and 31st minutes), and one apiece from Kenaz Williams (ninth) and Nathan Julien (42nd) as they held a convincing four-goal half-time lead.
And they held on for the win, despite responses from Javan Francis (53rd) and Andrew Smith (87th).
In the Connection-South End matchup, South End went ahead through Anim Ferreira after 21 minutes but Connection replied with a burst of goals from Malcolm Nedd (40th), Donnely Gopicharan (60th), Steven Joseph (70th) and Kellon Alexander (81st).
Third-placed Ma Pau kept up the pressure on the top two with a 7-0 rout of San Juan Jabloteh. Shaquille Nesbitt netted a double (70th and 75th), while Trey Hart (28th), Richard Allen (45th), Shaquille Long (65th), Kevin Eve (80th) and Jovel Williams (90th) contributed one apiece.
Phillip Coker scored twice, in the 43rd and 82nd, as Defence Force whipped Caledonia AIA 2-0 while North East Stars rallied from an early setback to defeat St Ann’s Rangers 2-1.
Otis Roberts put Rangers in front in the ninth minute before Carlon Lewis tied up the scores in the 54th while Kadeem Boyce got the winner in the 82nd.
