Trinidad and Tobago senior players Joevin Jones (19), and Shahdon Winchester (19), will jet off to the United States on February 01st for a trial-spell with 2010 MLS champions Colorado Rapids.

Both players have been invited to join the team on preseason for a duration of 21 days and will team up with another T&T player Javed Mohammed, who is currently trialing with the Rapids as well.

Colorado is schedule to visit English Premiership side Arsenal for a 10 day training camp at the Arsenal Training Centre in England. This will be the third time in the last four years that the Rapids will be hosted by their partner club, Arsenal FC.

Colorado Rapids and Arsenal have been in a partnership since 2007. This will also include several exhibition matches against teams that will be announced at a later date.

However, there was one hiccup for the pair as Shahdon Winchester was granted his US-VISA last week, while Joevin Jones got denied.

W Connection owner David John Williams told the Soca Warriors Online (SWO) that he was truly disappointed, but he is confident that the U.S. embassy will grant Jones his VISA this time around after the club owner was successful in getting a reappointment set for today.

Furthermore, with the request from John Williams, the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) also got involved and sent a letter of recommendation in honour of the talented left-back.

Jones has been capped 11 times by Trinidad and Tobago while recent Scottish giants Celtic FC trialist Shahdon Winchester sits on 2 caps. Both players are also active members of the T&T Under-20 team.

In September 2010 while on trial at Celtic FC Winchester scored two goals in an exhibition game for the Celtic Development Squad against a Motherwell XI in which they won 6-1.

Winchester impressed the Celtic management and a deal was rumoured to be finalized sometime this month, but no word has come in from Scotland on whether or not they will sign the talented midfielder.

In October 2010 Winchester along with his W Connection teammate Hughtun Hector came off another trial with Ukraine top flight club PFC Sevastopol.

Their Under-20 teammates Daneil Cyrus and captain Sheldon Bateau were also handed MLS trials and will join Sporting Kansas City for preseason training.

W Connection meanwhile will also send off another player on trial in St Lucian midfielder Zane Pierre who was also invited by another MLS team.

The San Jose Earthquakes have decided to take the W Connection player on their preseason camp in February when they are scheduled to visit Tottenham Hotspurs in England for a 12 day visit.

The team will travel across the pond to London to train at club partner Tottenham Hotspurs training ground from Thursday, February 17 until Sunday, February 27. The Quakes are working to finalize details for matches during that trip.

In September 2010 the 17-year old St Lucian starlet had trial spells with many top English Premiership club sides including; Stoke City, Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspurs and Liverpool.

Nothing has materialized for him in England, so he has now turned his attention to playing professionally in the United States.
