Joe Public and W Connection were in top form on Mother’s Day registering crushing wins over Defence Force and North East Stars respectively in Round One Match Day Five of the U13, U15 and U17 Divisions.
Public hosted Defence Force at the Marvin Lee Stadium and in the opening match registered a 5-1 win in the U13 Division with a hattrick by Rolando Francois (6th, 15th and 50th minutes) and an item each by Tristan Perotte (45th minute) and Jadel Carter (69th minute) while Sean Hutchinson got the lone item for the visitors in he 54th minute.
Joe Public moved up a spot to second on the U13 standings with 12 points, three behind leaders W Connection(15 points). Connection maintained its one hundred percent run with an impressive 6-0 win over Stars at Gilbert Park.
Judah St. Louis (7th and 27th minutes) and Isaiah Hudson(62nd and 64th minutes) both scored twice for Connection while Jeron Pantor (38th minute) and Terrell Williams (55th minute) notched one each.
In the U15 Division, Connection again stretched its winning streak to five from five with a 5-0 win over North East Stars to remain atop the standings with 15 points.
Jabari Mitchell(37th and 59th minutes) found the back of the net twice and Micael Basdeo(13th minute), Aswad Pilgrim (43rd minute) and leading striker Yafeu Rougier (79th minute) were also on target.
Joe Public U17s made a three spot jump on the standings into fifth with a big win over Defence Force 8-1. Keston Jones got a hattrick with goals in the 25th, 45th and 50th minutes, Marcel Springer and Kevin Goddard netted twice with goals in the 4th and 49th and 6th and 42nd minutes respectively while Jamal Lawrence picked up a goal in the 32nd minute.
Third positioned Caledonia also won big on Sunday with a 8-2 victory against Ma Pau SC with Javon Quamina registering a beaver-trick.
Joe Public wrapped up the day with a 7-0 win over Defence Force to extend its winning streak to a perfect run of five in the U17s.
The other U17 matches saw some close results with second positioned Connection edging Stars 1-0, third positioned Adam’s Construction San Juan Jabloteh defeating St. Ann’s Rangers 3-2, T&TEC and Caledonia both edging Police and Ma Pau SC 1-0 respectively.
