Head coach Terry Fenwick is going to throw everything he's got into his new club Queen’s Park FC when they kickoff their 2011/12 season this coming August.
The former San Juan Jabloteh head coach had a brief discussion with the Soca Warriors Online (SWO) about what he expects in the new season, some of the players to look forward to, his philosophy as a manager and his love for T&T.
When asked what he is expecting of his team and staff and who are some of the talents to look forward to when the season starts? Fenwick said: "Everything they have got, we will throw everything we’ve got into the League."
"We have some good young talents to look forward to in Theon James & Nicholas Castellanos - two very exciting young prospects."
"I believe I identify talent, prepare and shape youngsters for the National set up, but I have no control beyond that."
"As a manager I try to be well organized as possible and allow the players to express themselves within the team principles of play,” added Fenwick.
When asked if he is in the market for any foreign players, Fenwick said: "Only if I can't find the necessary standard/quality locally."
When asked what was the latest with the supposed court case against former club San Juan Jabloteh over the money they owed him? He replied, "a pre-action letter has been served."
Fenwick was quick to outline that he never underestimates his opposition. "Never underestimate the opposition... Army last year was a great example, who would have thought?”
Finally, he mentioned his special affection for T&T and its people and also touched on new Soca Warriors head coach Otto Pfister.
"T&T is a special place with special people. I love these beautiful islands and so many of the people are my friends.... not all, but many!"
"About T&T's new head coach, I've not met him but would love to assist him in any way... T&T football is in a mess and with no development program we are falling behind the rest of the region."
"The coach has his hands full, he will need all of his experience to combat the TTFF and produce a successful side. I wish him all the luck in the world, he'll need it,” ended Fenwick."
