T&TEC FC head coach Dexter Cyrus is riding the momentum and promises an attacking game when his side contest Caledonia AIA in the 2011 Final of the First Citizens Cup from 6:30pm at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

“Just as the W Connection game we have to do some things tactical and play very organized,” he told www.ttproleague.com.

“But all in all when we have the ball we are going to attack. That’s what I coach. I like to see football going forward. That’s the type of player I was so that’s the way I coach and that’s what we are going to do.”

The ‘Electric Boys’ shocked six-time winners W Connection with a 4-3 penalty win following a 1-1 regulation time draw on Friday 01 October at the Port of Spain venue in the semi-final round to reach the Final.

“They(Caledonia) are very compact,” continued Cyrus. “They play forward as a team and defend as a team.

I expect that (their coach) Jamaal Shabazz might take the pace of the game down a little bit. Nevertheless I know Shabazz has been around a while and is very experienced while I’m very young in the game. But all due respect to him, I’m not going to change my game plan,” he promised.

“Whatever he has to do, he has to do and I know what I have to do.

“I definitely believe that we are going to win. Based on what I’m seeing in our camp, I honestly believe we are going to win it.

“I understand that it’s like history in the making for both clubs. Caledonia never won the (First Citizens Cup) title before and this is actually going to be our first,” he ended.

Cyrus is also boasting an unbeaten run from four matches this season, kicking off with a 2-1 comeback victory over DIRECTV North East Stars in Round One Match Day One of the Digicel Pro League Championship at the Marvin Lee Stadium.

T&TEC followed up with a goalless draw against St. Ann’s Rangers in the round robin quarterfinal stage of the First Citizens Cup then a 4-4 draw against Adam’s Construction San Juan Jabloteh to finish Group A with 2 points, enough to advance into the semi-final round against Connection.
