The Trinidad and Tobago National Under-17 team were handed a 4-1 beating by their visiting Venezuelan counterparts last night when the teams met at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya.
The T&T squad were able to hold the Venezuelans to a 1-1 scoreline at halftime, Lester Peltier finding the equaliser for T&T late in the session, one minute after the visitors went ahead. But the young Soca Warriors were unable to keep the South Americans at bay in the second half, conceding three goals, including strikes by second half substitute Anton Irwin in the 56th, and Leonard Colmones, who rounded out the scoring with Venezuela's fourth in the 78th minute. The T&T Under-20s were also in action against Venezuela Under-20s in the second match of last night's double-header, T&T lost 1-0.
