Striker Trent Lougheed yesterday scored a double over host Venezuela B in the Hexagonal Soccer U-20 tournament as Trinidad and Tobago registered it's first win in the ongoing tournament with a 2-1 victory.
Again, the T&T team took a while to settle down and conceded an early goal coming in the 3rd minute from striker Yohandry Orozco. After the goal both teams had a series of attacks but neither couldn't get on the scoresheet. The T&T defence held firm for the remainder of the first half and had to go into their locker-room trailing 1-0.
But the Young Warriors came out in the second half a different team and really took it to the Venezuelans. Trent Lougheed who was recently called up by T&T senior team head coach Russell Latapy when they visited St Kitts/Nevis, led the come back with goals in the 65th and 74th minute respectively to ensure his team came out victorious.
No doubt Venezuela B was one of the weakest opponents T&T had to face so far, but hopefully they can take this momentum into Sunday's game against the strongest team in the tournament- Brazil !!
