Bradford Park Avenue’s home friendly against Trinidad & Tobago’s Under-20s World Cup side at Horsfall on Friday night will be like a full international.

Avenue Chief Executive Officer Bob Blackburn and the rest of the board were given a protocol list yesterday.

They were paid a visit by Lucia Sanchez, a representative from the FA who is involved with their bid for the 2018 senior World Cup, and she pointed out the club’s responsibilities for a game of such profile.

Blackburn said: “We have to have the Union flag and Trinidad & Tobago’s flag paraded around the pitch before kick-off and when the players line up for the ‘respect’ handshake before the game we have to broadcast both national anthems.

“The players have been instructed to exchange shirts at the final whistle and we have a list of what we have to provide in each dressing room.

“When Lucia came up to Horsfall Stadium from London for a 1pm meeting on Tuesday, we had to sign contacts stating that all these things will be taken care of.

"It is something that has generated great excitement at our club and we are all looking forward to it.”

The Trinidad & Tobago squad arrived in England on Monday for a series of warm-up games before they fly to Egypt for the Under-20s World Cup.

They are based in Sheffield and will be travelling to Bradford by coach and returning the same night. They were due to play their first friendly against Sheffield United today.

Avenue season-ticket holders can watch the game for free, while regular league prices apply for anyone wishing to pay through the gate on the night.

Blackburn has organised a local troupe of Caribbean dancers and a steel band to add to the atmosphere.
