Under-20 team head coach Zoran Vranes says his team has entered the final leg of preparations for their upcoming Concacaf World Cup qualifying final round in Guatemala from April 3-17.
Vranes has been putting his players through their paces at the Larry Gomes Stadium in recent weeks and will continue with four sessions this week before facing the National Under-17 team in a training match at the Marvin Lee Stadium from 4 pm on Friday. They head for a training camp in Miami shortly after.
“We are into our final phase of our preparations. We have stepped things up last two weeks to prepare ourselves in the best possible way and of course this camp in Miami is very crucial,” Vranes said.
He was also in Serbia recently during which time Hutson Charles and Dale Saunders took over the sessions. “We are not sure who our opponents are in the opening group but we must prepare for anything.
I think we have a good chance to qualify again because this team has players with a lot of potential and even a lot of experience because a couple of our players were in the previous Under-20 squad that went to the World Cup in Egypt,” he added.
“I will be assessing a couple new players from North America who will be part of the camp in Miami and hopefully we can get these players to be a valuable addition to the team.”
