Iona College men's soccer freshman Kester Guischard has been extended an invitation by the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation to participate in a week-long Miami based training camp this month.
In addition to training experience, the invitation cites an opportunity for the 5'7" defender to try out for the Trinidad National U20 Team, which is currently preparing for its CONCACAF Qualifiers of the FIFA U20 World Cup.
In his first collegiate season, Guischard appeared in ten games as a part of Iona's backfield and recorded four shots. The Gaels finished the year with a 9-9-1 overall record and were 6-3 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The squad defeated Siena to advance to the championship game at the 2010 MAAC tournament, falling to top-seeded Saint Peter's, 2-1, in the final.
