Kevin Molino vs Bermuda.National team midfielder Kevin Molino wants to turn himself into the goalscoring midfielder that has been lacking in national teams of recent past.

Not since the Russell Latapy era of the 1980s, 90s and part of the past decade has T&T possessed a midfielder capable of scoring game changing or match winning goals.

Molino’s recent displays for the T&T senior team has given on lookers and idea of his ability and over in Guadalajara, the midfielder’s showing was quite a spectacle even though he went scoreless in the three matches, hitting the post once versus Ecuador and having a few further efforts on goal.

“I feel I haven’t been having enough shots on goal and I haven’t been scoring so I went for it against Ecuador but unfortunately it hit the post,” Molino said.

“I’m a little happy with my performances. I’m working hard everyday to keep developing my game but I’d like to score some goals.

Goals win matches at the end of the day and I know I have to work hard in the midfield to help my team but if I can get some goals under my name then I think I will be making a bigger contribution and taking the pressure off the forwards and the rest of the team,” added the Orlando City player who netted in T&T’s 1-2 loss to Bermuda a few weeks earlier.

He went on to add: “I want to thank the former coach Latapy for giving me the opportunity to play for the senior team and hopefully I can hold my place for some time and go on to contribute to the country doing good things on the world stage.

I think we have players who are capable of taking us up in the rankings and to a level where we can be seen as a good nation in football.

Once we can get things right as a team then the results will come. We need to believe and keep on working our legs off in practice,” Molino stated.
