Dwight Charles’ lone effort was sufficient in seeing T&TEC retain top spot in the Southern Football Association (SFA) Petrotrin Super League Premier Division, on Saturday.
The Electricity Boys edged seventh-placed Penal Rock Road 1-0, to win its sixth successive match of the season, to remain unbeaten.
Its nearest challenger in PFC FC (one point behind) made easy work of Penal All Stars to take a 5-2 win, which also saw it remain unbeaten after seven matches, with five wins and two draws.
Andre Alexis, Dwight Cave and Andre Ettienne, all of whom were on target in PFC’s last outing were back on the scoresheet with one goal each. Marcus Joseph and Kelvin Hernandez scored the other two goals.
Meanwhile, in the Roy Jagroop Second Division, San Fernando Giants leaped into the runner-up position with an easy 4-0 win over bottom-placed Cedar Hill, on Sunday. Anton Morrison took a double, with Tristan Khan and Keston Grant also on target with one goal each.
Leaders Centre for Excellence and now-third-placed Los Iros FC were scheduled to play, but the match was postponed, seeing the top three end the weekend with the same number of matches played.
