Point Fortin Civic Centre and Marabella Family CC both took giant steps toward places in the last-eight of the Southern Football Association League Cup after first-leg victories in their round-of-16 encounters on Tuesday.

At Lower Barrackpore, Point Fortin, the current leader of the SFA Petrotrin Super League Premier Division, outgunned Diamond United 4-2 led by two goals each from out-of-favour national players Marcus Joseph and Matthew Bartholomew while Keston Jacobs also netted twice for the losers.

Marabella was much more emphatic in beating Penal All Stars 6-3 at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium Training Field, Marabella, led by a double from Mark Rivers while Akiel Joseph, Carlon Acosta, Stefon Campbell and Anton Pierre added the others.
