Church on the Rock will take on D’Abadie Deliverance Sanctuary in the grand Knockout Final of the Churches Football League, on a still to be determined date.

D’Abadie Deliverance Sanctuary advanced 4-3 on aggregate over Global Encounter Ministries when winning the second leg 1-0 last Saturday, forward Aaron Aguillera scoring the lone goal. The opening leg ended in a 3-3 draw.

Meanwhile, Curepe Amen lost their semi-final 3-1 overall to Church on the Rock, despite winning the second match at home 1-0 via a first half goal from veteran forward Lawrence Burke. Amen hold the record for winning this title seven times back to back (1995-2001), and started the encounter with desperation, knowing that they had lost the first leg by a 3–0 margin.

However, they could not overturn the deficit against lower division side Church on The Rock, who are having a superb season.

First Division’s Church on The Rock will be promoted in 2014. In just their second season, they topped their group and will play an upcoming First Division League final, against the other group winner Cumuto.

Meanwhile, multiple Premier League champions Curepe Amen will be relegated. This being the end of Curepe’s season, their manager and football referee Gordon Maloney said this has been their worst year in the last 15 seasons, with only one draw in the league and two 1-0 wins in the knockout competitions.
