SATURDAY’S championship match in the 2016 Guinness Street Football Challenge northern division playoffs at the Jean Pierre Complex in Port of Spain could have been classified a virtual Champions League showdown, as it pitted 2014 national and regional champions Chelsea against 2011 North East zonal winners Real Madrid FC.

And when the dust settled, it was Real Madrid who prevailed 3-2 on kicks from the penalty spot to clinch the title and the $2,500 prize, after the match ended in a 1-1 stalemate in regulation time.
