Valtrin United scored a smashing 5-0 victory over WASA to keep up their challenge for the title in the Emerald Apartments and Plaza-sponsored Eastern Football Association Premiership Division for the Arthur “Jap” Brown Memorial Trophy.
The “bound to score” Dwight Critchlow got a hat-trick of goals, opening the scoring in the 5th minute before adding further strikes in the 12th and 52nd.
Kenan Osbourne gave Valtrin their fourth goal in the 67th minute and Mathew Ramirez rounded off the scoring in the 82nd.
Carib FC got a goal each from the prolific Kefim Blackford in the 36th minute and Keston Alexander in the 73rd to edge Tunapuna Titans 2-1 after Adrian Daniel earned the lowly Titans a 65th minute equaliser.
Maloney Academy scored an exciting 3-2 come-from-behind victory over St John’s United.
After trailing to goals from Kazim Danjinmah in the 3rd minute and Akil Pierra in the 15th, the Maloney men struck back with a double from Khalid Critchlow, the first in the 16th minute and again in the 53rd before Kitwana Manning snatched what turned out to be the winner.
Prisons eked out a 1-0 triumph over Creek SCC in another match with the lone goal from Othaniel Stoute in the 7th minute.
Joe Public got the points from Coast Guard who defaulted their game.
And in a re-scheduled fixture Real Cmaracas mauled the Coast Guardmen 7-0 with Brian Hinds scoring two goals in the 15th and 20th, Shane Glasgow in the 35th, Dillon Bartholomew 43rd, Ronnel Diamond 55th, Yannick Noreiga 62nd and a 65th minute own goal.
Malabar Superstar whipped Boss FC 4-2 in First Division action.
Ellon Hunte scored three, the first in the 4th minute and he was on target again in the 24th and 60th while Ricardo Allen got the other in the 87th.
Courtney Martin pulled one back for Boss in the 40th and Nicholas Silpa gave them some hope with a goal in the 75th before the final result.
Leaders Upper Santa Cruz shut out Crowne United 2-0 on goals by Asheldon Daniel in the 29th and Julio Carimbocas 74th.
But in another match, Athletico Sports Institute downed Malabar Superstars 3-1 with Clint Raymond opening the scoring in the 10th. Ricardo Allen got the equaliser in the 26th before Durell Raymond scored the go-ahead goal in the 56th and the clincher in the 79th.
