EX-NATIONAL player Shurland David scored twice and Manu John got a third for Maloney Academy FC to boot Prisons 3-1 out of the Emerald Apartments & Plaza Cup in the Eastern Football Association at the quarter-final stage.
John opened the scoring in the 17th minute and David added his double in the 30th and 70th minutes while Hasely Collette got the Prisons consolation in the 87th.
But Real Maracas edged WASA 5-4 on penalties after the teams ended knotted up 2-2 at the end of regulation.
WASA led 1-0 on a Romano Rampersad 24th minute goal, but Brian Hinds levelled in the 49th before Michael Celestine restored the water men’s lead in the 59th only for Jason Hernandez to grab an 82nd minute equaliser.
Valtrin clobbered St John’s United 4-1 in another game with Clevon George scoring in the 5th minute and Dwight Crichlow in the 15th and 53rd. Kazim Danjinmah reduced the deficit in the 54th only for Kenan Osbourne to ensure the Valtrin men would not rally.
A Kevorn Cornwall hat-trick lifted Joe Public past Athletico Sports Institute and into the semi-final round with a shut out 3-0.
Cornwall scored goals in the 19th, 48th and again in the 75th minutes.
Maloney now take on Real Maracas in one semi-final at the Maloney ground while Valtrin meet Joe Public in the other at NUGFW ground tomorrow. Kick off is 4 pm.
