Jabari Hinds, Curtly Dodds and Neil Mitchell scored two goals apiece as Joe Public mauled North East Stars 8-2 to climb to the top spot of the Under-18 Division, as Round One Match Day Nine in the Oasis Youth Pro League took place on Sunday.
Hinds found the back of the net in the seventh and 35th minutes, while Dudds struck in the 29th and 70th and Mitchell scored in the 76th and 79th.
Kylon Gay’s 23rd minute goal and Aaron Ballantyne’s 87th minute strike compounded North East’s misery. Denzil Gill (52nd) and Chad Baptiste (58th) got the consolation items for the losers.
W Connection remained hot on the heels of Joe Public, jumping to second spot following a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Tobago United.
Nathan Regis gave Tobago a 17th minute lead before Connection rallied with items from Chad Rocke (39th) and Kellon Alexander (77th) to claim their sixth victory in nine matches.
Defence Force heaped more misery on cellar-placed St Ann’s Rangers, courtesy of a 3-1 triumph.
Akil Morris (34th) and Jamal Roberts (39th) gave Defence Force a two-goal lead before Kwasi Charles’ 76th minute penalty reduced the deficit to 2-1. But Ross Russell junior ensured full points for Defence Force with an 81st minute winner.
Caledonia AIA stayed in fifth spot despite battling to a 1-1 draw with San Juan Jabloteh, as Kerron Hernandez equalised for AIA in the 58th, three minutes after Andrew Smith put Jabloteh ahead.
In the other Under-18 encounter, fourth-placed Police were held to a goal-less draw by FC SouthEnd.
