With the top two teams in the standings, Club Sando and Guaya, having their matches postponed, third-placed Malabar FC will have an opportunity to diminish the gap at the head of the blink/bmobile National Super League standings, today, when it faces Tobago’s Bethel United.
The match, one of only three scheduled to play today, will kick off at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima, from 3.30 pm. Malabar currently sits five points behind league leader, Club Sando, and four behind runner-up, Guaya United.
Bethel, meanwhile, has struggled in the second tier competition, sitting third from bottom in the 13-team standings.
The top two teams were both engaged in the Toyota Classic action last evening (Saturday), forcing a second straight postponement of their league matches. Their fixtures and Stokely Vale’s clash with Joe Public has been postponed to December 18.
