Last season’s runner-up Club Sando and newly-promoted Petrotrin Palo Seco will feature in the first top-of-the-table clash for the season, when the second TTFA National Super League (NSL) match day kicks off this afternoon at various venues across the country. Both teams will be seeking a second win from as many matches when they meet at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, from 6 pm, the latest kickoff time.

The NSL kicked off on Wednesday with only four of the eight scheduled matches being played due to issues with flight accommodation. However, Club Sando, which missed out on the title by a single point last season, was one of eight teams which got its campaign underway and with a 2–1 win over Guaya, the defending champion. Petrotrin Palo Seco, too, was among the three opening round winners, securing a comfortable 2–0 win over Joe Public. Palo Seco is currently in its debut season following its promotion from the Southern Football Association.

Meanwhile, today’s match day will open at 3.30 pm with Joe Public’s trip to the Palo Seco Velodrome where it will meet Siparia Spurs, a club off a 1–1 draw with FC Santa Rosa. Then at 4 pm, Defence Force FC will play its first match at home to FC Santa Rosa at the Youth Camp, in Macqueripe.

Simultaneously, Tobago will host a derby when two of its four representing clubs, Bethel United and Stokely Vale also meet in their first match of the season at Montgomery. An hour later, Guaya will seek to rebound from its midweek loss when in its travels to St Joseph where it will meet WASA FC.
