DEVON MODESTE netted a hat-trick as Club Sando beat Siparia Spurs 3-2 on Sunday to remain ahead of the pack in the National Super League.
At the Fyzabad Recreation Ground, the league leaders benefitted from a good showing from Modeste, who found the back of the net in the 12th, 50th and 60th minutes.
Siparia made the game interesting when they got late items from Andy London in the 78th and a penalty from Daniel Garcia four minutes later.
But they could get no closer, as Sando registered their 12th victory of the season.
Guaya United, the defending champions, cruised to a 3-0 victory over Coosal’s Las Lomas United at the Guayaguayare Recreation Ground. on goals by Ryan Stewart (13th), Kendes Garcia (30th) and Akeil Paul 950th).
Donovan Derrick recorded a beaver-trick as Real Maracas crushed ‘D’ Lime Bar Goal City 5-0 at the Plymouth Recreation Ground.
He netted goals in the ninth, 53rd, 55th and 64th minutes, while Corie Dhanoolal completed the rout in the 74th. In an all-Tobago clash, 1976 FC Phoenix came from behind to defeat Bethel United 2-1 at Canaan Recreation Ground.
Carron Williams put Bethel in front after 25 minutes but Phoenix got a double from veteran Lejandro Williams in the 44th and 45th.
Two scheduled games on Sunday did not play — NLCB La Horquetta versus Malabar FC at the Trinity College East Ground in Trincity and FC Santa Rosa versus WASA at the YTC Ground in Arouca.
A pair of rescheduled League games will be contested this week.
