After wasting it’s chances and losing it’s match day eight fixture against Joe Public 2-1 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, Sportworld National Super League leaders Police eked out a 1-0 win over Plipdeco Caroni at Gilbert Park, California.

Richard Roy’s goal in the 88th minute made sure that Police took three points from the encounter, though on closer examination it may be seen as an escape against a team that before the match, was eighth team and that now trail them by 13 points.

At the Hasely Crawford Stadium, M&M Harvard slipped past Media 21 2-1 on goals from Marvin “Tiny” Lee and Christon Freitas.
From the kick-off, Harvard went for the jugular but Freitas’ well weighed cross in the first minute was not met by any of his teammates.

In the 20th minute, shortly after spurning the game’s best chance, Dexter Joslyn put Media 21 ahead with a well-taken shot from just inside the area to the right of Harvard goalkeeper Kelvin Charles.

Lee brought the teams level as he bundled in Harvard’s first in the 24th minute after Media 21’s goalkeeper Barry Gonzales was unable to hold on to shot from Freita from point blank range.

Freitas got a deserved goal and the match winner in the 52nd minute following a deep clearance from Joel Penco that found him alone on the penalty spot with only the keeper to beat, and he made no mistake.

At San Juan Senior Comprehensive School ground in Bourg Malatresse, Marlon Warner gave Crab Connection the win over Stokely Vale, the match ended 2-1.

Ricardo Bennett gave Connection the lead in the 34th before Kayode Legall equalised for Stokely Vale in the 47th. Warner put away the victory with a 56th minute goal.

At home to Angostura 1976 FC Phoenix, Wasa recorded its third win of the 2005 competition— 2-1 over their Tobagonian guests.
Phoenix went ahead on the stroke of half-time, the 45th minute, though Dominic Kerr but David George evened the score in the 75th minute.

Wasa captain Kien Hernandez slotted home a 81st minute penalty kick to seal the win for his outfit. Matches continue on Wednesday.
