Superstar Rangers recovered from their three-match winless streak with a 2-0 victory over Police in their Sportworld National Super League match at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella.

Goals on in each half by Akudu Goodridge brought the victory. Akudu Goodridge got the first in the 21st minute and Todd Ryan scored the other in the 80th minute.

From almost immediately after the first goal, the match became increasingly physical and by the final whistle seven yellow cards were shown.

Police’s Karim Joseph (24th minute), Shaun Mc Letchie (44th), Anthony Campbell (53rd) and Wendell Joseph (60th) saw yellow while Rangers’ Lorne Joseph (8th), Goodridge (67) and Mario Asoon (81st) also got warning from the referee.

Tobagonian team Stokely Vale got its second win of the 2005 campaign in fine style, outscoring Media 21 5-2 on the Mount Hope Junior Secondary School’s ground.

Marvin Small got the first of his two goals for Media 21 in as early as the 17th minute and his team almost managed to hold on to the lead to the interval; but Keron Phillip equalised in the 44th minute.

Small got his team back into the lead when he completed his double in the 50th minute, but that led to the turning point in the match.

Sean Christmas brought Stokely Vale level again in the 58th minute; then Michael Carrington put in a pair of goals in the 62nd and 86th minutes and Phillip scored a second goal in the minute of stoppage time.

In that match, eight yellow cards were also shown — to Media 21’s Gairy Thompson (69th minute), Bobbington King (91st) and Real Didier (88th); and Stokely Vale’s Sean Christmas (45th), Shawn Job (69th), Jamon Quashie (70th), Curtis Job (70th) and Keron Phillip (85th).

The Media 21 footballers are yet to win a match and have only one point from a draw in nine matches.

On the Trinity College ground at Moka, Wasa Clean and White beat Maraval Youth Academy 3-1. Keon Hernandez opened the scoring in the 21st minute and Wasa held the lead until the 79th minute when Shaton Ollivierre equalised; but late goals from Keston Thomas (83rd minute) and Darren Lewis (90th) secured the win for Wasa.
