GUAYA UNITED maintained their lead in the CNG National Super League Premiership Division on Sunday with a 5-3 triumph over Matura Re United in their Match Day 15 battle, at the Guaya Recreation Ground, Guayaguayare.

Guaya strolled to a 5-0 lead with goals from Carlon Hughes (13th and 54th minutes), Ryan Stewart (44th and 49th) and Kevin Jagdeosingh (45th).

However, Matura saved face in the second half with strikes from Shervin Charles (66th), Kelsa Matthews (69th) and Dorian Robinson (90th).

Defence Force stayed in second spot after edging WASA FC 1-0 at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium Training Field in Marabella, courtesy of a 53rd minute strike from Michael Edwards.

National youth team midfielder Levi Garcia scored two late strikes as Marabella Family Crisis Centre defeated Petrotrin Palo Seco 3-2 to move up to third place.

At the Palo Seco Velodrome, ex-Trinidad and Tobago Under-20 striker Juma Clarence put Marabella in front after eight minutes but Palo Seco responded through Sylvester Teesdale (49th) and Virgil Williams (72nd). Marabella did not give up hope, as Garcia levelled the scores in the 82nd, and then netted the game-clinching goal in the 86th.

At the Police Barracks in St James, Onasi Forde netted five times as 1976 FC Phoenix overcame hosts Police 6-4. Forde got his name on the scoresheet in the 18th, 50th, 53rd, 67th and 74th, while Nigel Thomas scored in the 31st. For Police, Colin Williams scored twice (fourth and 11th) while ex-national midfielder Trent Noel (79th) and Jason Boodram (80th) got one apiece.

Siparia Spurs recorded a 4-2 win over Bethel United at the Petrotrin Ground in Fyzabad. Donrick Mascall (16th and 31st), Jesse Edwards (80th) and Andy London (89th) found the back of the net for Siparia, while Denzil James (21st) and Daniel Craig (59th) replied for the visitors.

Club Sando Moruga and NLCB La Horquetta SA scored 2-1 victories away to cellar-placed outfits Real Maracas and Stokely Vale respectively.

At the Maracas Recreation Ground, Dillon Bartholomew (ninth) put Maracas ahead before Club Sando Moruga responded through Nigel John (22nd) and Trevon Mitchell (73rd) while, at the Plymouth Recreation Ground, Nathan Julien (fifth) and Antonio Auguste (90th) scored for La Horquetta and Akeilon Murphy (90th) netted for Stokely Vale.

There will be a quartet of rescheduled matches on Thursday.
