GUAYA UNITED cruised into the semi-final round of the CNG National Super League Knockout competition on Sunday courtesy of a 5-0 trouncing of NLCB La Horquetta SA at the Guaya Recreation Ground, Guayaguayare.

Former national midfielder Ryan Stewart broke the deadlock after 48 minutes for the Premiership Division leaders while Kheelon Mitchell doubled the lead in the 71st. Carlon Hughes got his name on the scoresheet in the 73rd, while Jody Allsop (89th) and Andre Alfred (90th) completed the rout.

Defence Force, who are second on the Premiership standings, fell to a 2-1 loss to Championship Division table-toppers Prisons FC at the Youth Training Centre (YTC) Ground in Arouca.

Lance Haynes put the hosts ahead in the 26th but Aaron Lester levelled the scores in the 76th. However, John Stewart notched the winner for Prisons in the 89th.

Another game ended in a 2-1 result, with Petrotrin Palo Seco getting the better of Marabella Family Crisis Centre at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella.

Willian Garcia (26th) and Sylvester Teesdale (34th) netted for Palo Seco while national Under- 20 midfielder Levi Garcia (44th) pulled one back for the hosts.

Also on Sunday, in a rescheduled second round fixture, Andy London notched a beaver-trick as Siparia Spurs thrashed Bethel United 6-1 at the Petrotrin Ground, Fyzabad.

London netted in the 38th, 44th, 79th and 82nd, while Andre Quashie (46th) and Daniel Diaz (80th) also got their names on the scoresheet for Siparia.

Kelvon Charles got the lone item for Bethel, in the 65th.

On Thursday, Siparia will head to the sister isle to face 1976 FC Phoenix in their quarter-final battle at the Canaan Recreation Ground.

The semi-finals are carded for October 25 with the Siparia- Phoenix winner meeting Guaya while Prisons will oppose Palo Seco.
