SPORTS AND Games FC Santa Rosa edged Queen’s Park 4-3 on Sunday, to remain atop the 14-team standings in the National Super League Premiership Division.

In a Match Day 13 contest at the Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya, Santa Rosa got a pair of goals from Rashad Griffith (second and 33rd minutes), as well as one apiece from Keron Clarke (46th) and Keston Henry (62nd).

Finding the back of the net for the Parkites were Jason Devenish (26th), Kevaughn John (57th) and Trevon Mitchell (71st).

With the result, Santa Rosa have a tally of 27 points, three more than Club Sando Moruga, who fell to a 2-0 loss to Petrotrin Palo Seco at the Palo Seco Velodrome.

Nkosi Simon (49th) and Bevon Bass (53rd) were the goal-getters for Palo Seco, who moved up a notch to third place.

The biggest margin of victory occurred at the Mt Gomery Recreation Ground, with Bethel United crushing cellar-placed Marabella Family Crisis Centre 5-1. Travis Winchester (fifth and 72nd) and Kevon Woodley (42nd and 89th) notched two goals apiece, while Kevon Adams (32nd) got the other for Bethel, after they conceded a second minute goal from Ghmyo Harper.

Guaya United also overcame an early setback to trounce Matura ReUnited 4-1 at the New Lands Ground in Guayaguayare.

Kerin Vincent broke the deadlock for Matura in the 40th but Guaya responded with a double from Carlon Hughes (45th and 75th) and one each from Cio Morris (59th) and Cleveland Jordan (81st).

In a clash of struggling teams, Siparia Spurs got past Real Maracas 4-2 at Irwin Park, Siparia. Andy London (44th and 52nd) scored twice for the hosts, while Kyle Thomas (42nd) and Chris Collins (46th) chipped in with one each. Real Maracas pulled back two goals, from Ryan Stewart (60th) and Keron Bethelmy (64th).

Reigning champs Defence Force and WASA battled to a 1-1 draw at the WASA Ground in St Joseph. Josimar Belgrave netted for Defence Force in the 31st, but WASA levelled the scores in the 75th through Nathan Julien.

Tobago FC Phoenix 1976 and Police played to a 1-1 draw at the Canaan Recreation Ground. Dwayne Salazar scored for the lawmen in the 73rd but Trevonne James equalised four minutes later.
